William’s MFPC Co-Presidency
Hello filmmakers and storytellers!
As Co-President of the McMaster Film Production Club (MFPC), I’m incredibly excited to lead us into an even more dynamic and supportive year. My journey in filmmaking, particularly with projects like the award-winning ‘Murder of Minus,’ has shown me the power of collaboration, dedicated resources, and a streamlined creative process.
My vision for MFPC is to build on the fantastic foundation we already have. I want to foster a club where every member feels not only involved and valued but also empowered to create films they are truly proud of: projects that look exceptional, feel rewarding to make, and are produced with less stress and more attention to detail.
My Pledges for MFPC
When I ran for Co-President, I outlined a vision focused on practical improvements and member empowerment. Here’s a look at those pledges and how we’re working to achieve them:
- Higher-Quality Films with Less Stress
- We’re shifting focus towards shorter films. This allows us to invest more energy into refining details, reduce production stress, and often lower film festival submission costs, making our work more impactful and manageable.
- Access to Pro Equipment
- I’m making my personal high-quality lights, video, and audio gear available to MFPC members. This ensures our projects have access to professional tools for top-tier productions.
- Stronger Creative Community
- We’re fostering a more connected club through optional networking and team-building events. We’re also hosting public workshops on essential skills like scriptwriting, budgeting, and production planning to make productions smoother and more efficient for everyone.
- More Screenings and Exposure
- The club will decide together whether to allocate club budget for local film festival submissions to get our members’ work seen and appreciated.
